Creating a cookery language for children as young as two.
Sally Brown and Kate Morris have a simple mission: to get all children cooking. We believe every child has the right to learn this vital life skill, whether it is learned in the home or at school and that children are capable of achieving more in the kitchen than most parents and teachers realise.
We aim to put the “I CAN” back into cooking for children - stripping away all the barriers and excuses for not cooking. Our approach has led to the creation of a new cookery language, devising new safer methods and techniques that enable young children to create healthy and delicious food. We use ready- to- hand tools and utensils, there’s no need for fancy gadgets
Cookery School Our pioneering cookery school, The Purple Kitchen, started in 2003 and was the first in the country for under fives and their parents to attend on a weekly basis.
Television We devised the successful CBeebies television series I Can Cook and have developed a brand new series My World Kitchen which launches in February 2018 on CBeebies. "Huge congratulations on the show. What a brilliant format, a celebration of diversity in Britain and of changing tastes." Bee Wilson, Food Writer on My World Kitchen.
